Frequently asked questions

What makes Wild Hope Counseling & Wellness different?

I offer more than just talk therapy - I help you reconnect with your body, your values, and your sense of hope. My approach blends evidence-based techniques with holistic care that honors your story, your nervous system, and your spirit. Whether you’re navigating trauma, grief, burnout, or identity shifts, I walk with you in it.

Who is your ideal client?

My ideal clients are often young women or women in midlife, helpers, creatives, or caregivers who are feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or disconnected from themselves. Many are working through grief, relational trauma, or major life transitions. Others may identify as neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or simply exhausted from constantly being the strong one for everyone else.

You might be a good fit for my practice if you’re looking for a safe space to unpack your story, reconnect with your body, and rediscover your voice.

Do I have to be religious or spiritual to work with you?

Not at all. While my own practice is rooted in faith and ancestral healing, I work with people from all belief systems (or none). If spirituality is important to you, we can explore it together in a way that feels safe and meaningful. If not, that’s completely okay. Therapy is always guided by your values - not mine.

What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help?

I hear this often. Sometimes it takes the right connection, timing, or approach. I take time to understand what hasn’t worked and offer a personalized, compassionate process. I also focus on nervous system regulation and body-based practices that many clients find more impactful than traditional talk therapy alone.

Can therapy help with physical symptoms like pain, fatigue, or chronic illness?

Yes. I believe emotional pain often lives in the body. Many clients come to me feeling stuck, exhausted, or disconnected and they leave with tools to regulate their nervous system, release stored stress, and reclaim their energy. While I don’t treat medical conditions, I do support the emotional and somatic aspects of healing.

Do you provide co-therapy for couples?

Yes. I offer sessions for couples.

What ages do you work with?

Although I have experience working with all ages, due to the nature of virtual counseling, I currently work with teens (14+) and adults.

What types of therapy or techniques do you use?

I draw from CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), Internal Family Systems (IFS) / Parts Work, and MBCT (mindfulness-based cognitive therapy). I also incorporate somatic therapy, narrative therapy, and spiritual reflection when it aligns with your goals.

We’ll explore the connections between your mind and body. This may include looking at the food–mood connection, sleep patterns, physical movement, hormone cycles, and self-care rituals. My approach is collaborative and deeply holistic. I tailor each session to support your unique path to healing and wholeness.

How long will I need to be in therapy?

It depends on what you’re looking for. Some people come for short-term support with a specific issue, while others stay longer for deep healing and growth. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy is serving you well and evolving with your needs.

Do you take insurance?

Yes—I’m in-network with most major health insurance networks. They also cover virtual counseling sessions. I always recommend that you check to make sure your insurance covers mental health counseling, and that I am an in-network provider with your plan.
